| Growing up in small town in the middle of the country you have two ways to get out, being an out of this world athlete or join the military. For Roy Braden there was only one way of his town considering his athletic abilities were minimal, so he joined the Army right out high school. What he lacked in talent for sports he more than made up for in combat and tracking. He spent many years in the Army being honorably discharged earning decent pension for his twenty years of service.
The problem didn't start till he got home, for what kind of job can ex-Army Sniper really get. With three kids and a wife the pension money can only go so far. Plus, at the age forty he was not ready to just hang it all up. As rejection after rejection started to mount so did his anger and drinking, but with the drinking and bar room fights a realization hit, Roy was no longer normal.
Roy, drunk again, got into with some rowdy patrons at local bar where a fight would ensue, when one of the hooligans tried to break a pool stick over Roy's head things would change forever. Roy grabbed the stick then in matter of seconds it exploded sending everyone flying including Roy. He spent the night in the tank where a Shadow figure visited his cell.
The Shadowman had an offer for him, come work for him and be paid well to the point your financial struggles will disappear or rot in his current life. Roy of course took the getting paid option, where we would spend the next few years being an enforcer for the figure in shadows.
